When is it time to upgrade the antenna?

Pixelation could be the sign of a bad or broken antenna system. When the TV pixelates, it is time to get the TV antenna installation checked.

Pixelation can occur because your antenna system is failing, or because of the way your TV is tuned.

But more common, is a faulty component in the TV antenna installation.

The process to check the TV Antenna Installation

It starts with a phone call (or click here to ask a question of our team online). Our friendly admin team will work with you as to whether it is a transmitter type issue (with patience being the solution). Or whether it’s worth a service call by one of our technicians to assess your TV.

When our technicians arrive, they will introduce themselves, remove their shoes and then test the TV Signal at the TV. They have the best equipment. And the experience required to know what the readings mean.

Often times our techs can stop and give pricing and solutions right there from the meter results! Other times they’ll continue on and check the antenna on the roof and other components.

It’s our job to sort through the old tv antenna installation. We don’t want to waste your money and just replace everything. Instead we need to figure out which components have failed. And which ones should be replaced whilst we are there. Also which components can be salvaged/repaired and reused to save you money.

We’ll always quote and discuss options with you before we go any further. We’ll work with your budget and get that system repaired. When following recommended solutions, we’ll also give you a long 5 year warranty as well.

What is a warranty though?

Any company will give you some sort of warranty. But Brocky’s TV Antennas pride ourselves on our warranty. When working with antennas, you need a signal satisfaction guarantee. So it’s not just a warranty on the parts themselves, but on the parts, our labour and the signal result itself.

We know that if you pay to get a TV antenna installation fixed. We also know how important it is for you that it stays fixed. That’s why our Australian Made antennas might not be the cheapest on the market, but they are the best. Furthermore we install them to last.

Smart TV – Do I still need a TV antenna installation?

Netflix, Stan and Amazon Prime all make up a large part of our viewing experience. But there is still no easy and fast way to get all our free-to-air channels working via the internet.

We expect to still be using TV antennas for the next 5 to 10 years. Sure, you can get channels via a Smart TV. But you have to open a different app for each station, and that takes the fun of channel surfing away!

How much does it cost?

If it is a tuning issue, cabling or wiring issue or generally something that we can solve in the first 20 minutes, the cost will just be a service call. $125 and includes the 20 minutes labour. We’ll retune the TV and write a report. And you’ll be back up and running.

For larger repairs, it depends on what you need. We problem solve and replace what is needed. Remember that our technicians always quote first, and give options on how to proceed.
